Fu Lam Mum is a full-service Chinese restaurant in Mountain View known for its Cantonese-style dim sum and classic Chinese dishes. Located conveniently on Castro Street, this spot draws a steady local crowd, especially on weekends and weekend brunch hours when the dim sum selection is at its fullest and the dining room buzzes with groups sharing plates.

The atmosphere strikes a balance between casual and polished — recent updates have given the interior a more refined look, making it suitable for both family gatherings and group dinners with friends or coworkers. Despite its popularity, the staff manages to keep service attentive even on busy nights, which helps keep the experience smooth and comfortable.

The menu highlights a broad dim sum offering, including standout items like shrimp dumpling har gow, fried shrimp balls, and beef tripe with ginger and scallion. Favorite dishes that locals mention often include the pork rice noodle roll, scallion pancakes, and the house special wor won ton soup, which delivers depth and warmth especially on cooler days. Vegetables like Chinese broccoli and string beans prepared with garlic or oyster sauce provide balancing freshness alongside richer dishes.

Fu Lam Mum also shines for group dining thanks to its expansive menu, accommodating different tastes with everything from savory BBQ buns and congee to Peking duck and spicy garlic-style green beans. It’s a great spot if you’re looking to share multiple dishes and sample a variety of flavors in one meal.

Visitors best enjoy this restaurant during peak dim sum hours—typically mid-morning to mid-afternoon on weekends—but weekday evenings are also lively with locals stopping by after work. The location on Castro Street offers a convenient stroll nearby before or after meals, enhancing the casual yet social vibe of the outing.

Overall, Fu Lam Mum appeals most to those who appreciate classic Cantonese cooking with a variety of dim sum alongside full-meal options in a space that feels cozy but a bit elevated compared to typical quick dim sum parlors. It’s well suited for both small family dinners and larger groups looking to share a lively, flavorful experience without venturing far from Mountain View’s downtown core.

Came here for a birthday dinner with a big group and it was so good! We tried so many different dishes. The pork rice noodle roll was the stand out for us. We also enjoyed sesame buns, chicken feet, shumai, and the cucumbers. Also the duck appetizer was so good. Highly recommend this spot for a group meal.

Go there for outstanding dim sum, the place is usually very busy and most likely you ll have to wait for a table, but it is worth it. The food is excellent and a wide variety of dim sum are offered. Great place, highly recommended

Good food, great service. Love the updates they’ve made to the inside- looks more upscale now. Recommend the crispy chicken in spicy sauce, the green beans, the cubed steak and the scallion pancakes. Dim Sum is also up there.

Ben was helping me a lot or organizing a big group dinner and the food was very very delicious and the service was very supportive. I highly recommend anyone to go to have food there. It’s a good area to have a walk after too

one of our favorite places for dim sum. go on a weekend around 11a, if later it gets crowded. lots of carts come around. choose only what you want, there will always be more to come. don't worry about what it is, just try it. so delicious. it's best in a group of four or more people. sit, and eat and talk and eat for a few hours. odd that we don't have a version of this for American food. I think it's be very popular. maybe some day.

This is a solid dim sum place with good food overall. Prices were fair, except for the pan fried bao with translucent skins, which were way overpriced. We enjoyed the shrimp chang fen and the Chinese broccoli. The har gow had nice chewy skins, but the filling inside was only so-so. I was not a huge fan of the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves because the filling was made with ground meat instead of whole pieces. The staff were efficient and friendly. We enjoyed choosing our food from the roving dim sum carts. I ordered shou mei tea, which tasted fine.
